A Type 1 diabetic who refused to settle for "good enough."
Matt was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on December 23, 2009 — at the end of what he calls the worst month of his life. He spent the next decade being failed by the same medical system he was told to trust.
After nearly dying from a severe low blood sugar event in a foreign country (he was traveling alone), Matt's curiosity turned into an obsession. He spent the following years studying nutrition, training as a Master Fitness Trainer, and connecting with top diabetes researchers around the world — searching for the formulas no one was teaching.
Today, Matt is the founder of FTF Warrior, a coaching company built exclusively for T1Ds. He's maintained 90%+ time in range for 5+ consecutive years, completed a full Ironman triathlon, and helped thousands of "Renegade Warriors" stop merely surviving T1D — and start thriving with it.
My medical team failed me. I had to carve out my own path forward. This book is everything I wish someone had handed me in year one of my diagnosis — distilled, tested, and proven.
